Many people ask what is new in this generation and why implement something new to our parenting to the next generation. Well, there are different perspectives on this topic but mine is a little scientific. What lessons must to teach Next generation?

Technology discipline

Our next generation has not only the internet but the new version of the internet and technology. Web 3 and Meta make them more advanced and smarter. Google provides them with whatever they ask for, Even other electronic gadgets like T.V., and tablets, become smarter.

Chat GPT, Bard AI, and other AI tools make the world more different in the future.

This is just a glimpse of today’s time; the future will look more different than today.

So, it is obvious that we also have to improve ourselves and our parenting style. The new generation is familiar with this technology and they know how to use it, but sometimes they cross the boundaries and make mistakes.

They misuse these technologies and use them improperly. Many times they cross the boundaries and break the rules.

Sometimes they unknowingly fall into criminal activity which can spoil their future or just become victims of the technology.

On the other side social media platforms play an important role in their life. Many times they share their info online and get trapped and become victims of the technology.

Different kinds of cybercrime stories have become common in the news and as a parent, it makes us upset. We live in the unknown fear of technology and for this reason, there is conflict between our children that directly affect our relationship

As a parent, it is our responsibility to make them aware of the boundaries and to be safe from technology. We can not tell them to stop to using this technology and if you do so you will be the villain to them.

Instead of making sure that they have proper knowledge and know the pros and cons. We should educate them and spread awareness of the negative aspects of technology and how to be safe from it.

And of course, give them space for communication so they can share anything that they are willing to. So, you can get a solution for the problem before they get badly stuck into it.

Emotional and Mental health

The time is going fast and everyone is running in a never-ending race. In the future the scenario may become better or worse, can’t say anything, but to make our child prepare for that is a must.

Let them know to find the small reason to be happy as there are lots of little but precious moments which can make a person happy.

Let them know that mental health is as important as physical health and whenever you find yourself sick, ask for help. Teach them the importance of making friend with whom they can share their problems and of course, live so many happy moments with them.

Make them emotionally strong so they can handle the situation by being calm and stable. Teaching them emotional regulation is become crucial these days.

Teach them to be calm, strong, and sensitive by modeling and practicing healthy communication to connect with children. They look up to you and learn from you.

Financial Education

This is what many parents do not pay attention to teaching their children. In a time where everyone wants a lavish and comfortable life, teaching basic financial education is a must. For instance, the difference between needs and wants, long-term and short-term savings, etc.

Because it gives them financial freedom that helps them throughout their life and they would be thankful for this later.

Many parents ask me when to start to teach them money education and my answer is as soon as possible. Well, it does not mean that you start to teach them account, and profit- lose but teach them basic information about money and investment according to their age and ability.

You can also discuss your monthly budget in front of them so they learn many valuable lessons from it. It may become the first step toward their money education.

Ethics are forever

The human kind is made of emotions and intelligence and that makes it unique from other species. The other thing that evolves with us is our values and ethics which make us more sensitive and more human. Our ethics make us the better version of ourselves and that is the reason to pass this to the next generation and make them better.

All these values and ethics give them meaningful life and values. They become more successful in life and can achieve their goals.

Relationships

Human beings are social animals and it needs the warmth of relations. Relationships are as important as health and happiness, as they give you the feeling of security, love, and empathy. Any relation whether it is friends, life partner, parents, children, or whatever their name but all plays an important role in your life.

A true relationship makes you stronger and gives you the feeling of togetherness.

And this lesson must be taught to our child to make their young life full of amazing relationships.

Self-love

Self-love is an essential for oneself. It gives you the energy to make your life more manageable. Teach them to live life gracefully. Teach them to be grateful for everything that they have and learn lessons from every mistake.

Self-love is the essential fuel for every person, it gives worthiness to our own self and fills the emotional cup which helps to regulate our emotions.
