In our busy lifestyle with long to-do list and the responsibility of parenting makes us frustrated and exhausted that create burnout. To avoid burnout for working parents (both mommy and daddy) here is 4 effective tips that I want to share it with you.

I’ve learned this from my own experience, first it was hard for me to implement this habit but eventually I’ve learnt to deal with it. Hopefully it will help you too.

Let’s come to the point.

Tips to avoid Burnout for Working Parents

1) Set Boundaries

Setting boundaries is must because unless you do this you have no power to manage yourself and your schedule. Set boundaries between your work hours and personal time. Where personal time includes managing your home, kids, your relationship and yourself.

To maintain this, you also need help of your partner and kids. You can ask for help without being guilty. Actually, this kind of action give you more power and energy, can improve your connection with family members. It empowers you and your family relationship.

2) Set achievable GOAL

We always follow a system to achieve goals at our work space but many time forgets that this habit can also help us at our home.

We have lots of pending work that may be not done because it is always saved in our to-do list and every time ignored.

Try to make a plan to achieve GOAL for your pending work at home. You can also set a goal for your kids. For instance, if you found that your child needs some attention and some extra care and guidance for his coming exam/tournament. You can set goal and plan accordingly.

This will help you to stay focused and on track. Because when we plan for something, we can track the progress.

Setting a goal for your workspace and your home regularly can also save you from being overwhelmed.

3) Make time for your Hobby

Spare your time to pursuit hobby. When you follow your hobby, it gives you relief from your chaotic thought that bother you in your life.

Hobby can make you feel relaxed and restart your mind. It’ll give you the space where you can be only you without any distraction and pressure.

So, choose your favourite hobby and schedule it in your week or at least in your month.

You can see the power of being you.

4) Take a Break

Take a break, you will be surprised if I’m telling you to take a break every day or every week.

But I’m telling the hard truth and I also follow it. The meaning of taking a break it doesn’t mean that you have to stop your working life and going on a long vacation.

It means that take a break 10 minutes in the morning to talk with yourself where no mobile, no gadget, no activity. Just you and your mind.

Take a long break on week off where you can find yourself only with your thoughts and your journal if you want to. It is called a mindful break where your mind can take a rest for a while and think clearly to show you the right path.

It will help you to become more mindful and productive person.

This all can prevent you to the parental burnout because you can now deal with your child with calm mind and you will start your journey toward conscious parenting.

Don’t forget that first you are a human being and then after a mother, a father, and spouse. If you feel exhausted you will be not able to give your attention to anything, neither at your home nor at your workplace.
